A Second Skin

The human skin is an amazing organ: its about 21 square feet in size, with approximately 400 pores and fifteen feet of blood vessels per square inch, its waterproof and durable, and it regulates your body temperature.

So when researchers working in the outdoor apparel industry decided that they wanted to make a fabric that was like a second skin it was no small task. But somehow they did it.

At the heart, literally, of all modern fabrics is a microporous polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE to those in the know) membrane sandwiched between two layers of high-performance, breathable textiles. It is this membrane, which closely mimics the functioning of human skin, that is responsible for the functionality of modern outer wear.

But whereas human skin has around 400 pores per square inch, the PTFE membrane contains over 9 BILLION microscopic pores per square inch.

Most importantly, and perhaps most brilliant of all, is that these pores are 20 000 times smaller than a water droplet but 700 times larger than a water vapour molecule. this means that water cant get in, but perspiration can diffuse out.

A fabric that is simultaneously waterproof and breathable. Brilliant.

And for those of you who thought youd never heard of PTFE before you have. only we know it under one of its trade names: Teflon.

It means that todays wet weather wear not only functions as a second skin, but allows your own skin to do what it does best: regulate your own micro-climate.

No matter how much we may wish otherwise, we really have no control over the weather. Mother Nature will do what Mother Nature does regardless of what we have to say about it. And although you might not be able to control the outer elements, with a little thought and attention when purchasing wet/outer weather wear, you can get a little control back. control of your own micro-climate.

Florida In A Nutshell

When it comes to the state of Florida, there is really nothing more anyone can ask for when it comes to having fun. One great thing about Florida is that no matter where you are anywhere in the state, you are never more than an hour and a half a way from the ocean. Not many places in the world can brag about that unless they are a small island.

Florida has a land mass of 58,560 square miles, and with in this tropical paradise lies cities with rich cultural heritages. Each city will oblige any person with something that picks at their interests.

Miami is a city that is starting to looks like a new Manhattan island. Miami is currently undergoing a major building hike with over 80 high rise towers under construction, including the Biscayne Wall skyscrapers, like Ten Museum Park, Marina blue, Marquis, 900 Biscayne Bay, Everglades on the Bay and Freedom Square. Near Miami is the famous Miami Beach where millions each year swim and partake in the clear water.

The Florida Keys are 15 miles south of Miami and extend in an arc south-southwest and then westward to Key West. They compose of about 1700 islands and contain one of the longest bridges, The Seven Mile Bridge, which can be seen in modern movies action scenes like True Lies. Tourists can go to Key West and mingle with locals, shop at stores, and feast on local restaurants like Key West Historic Seaport at the Key West Bight.

One of Florida's main hotspots is, of course, Orlando. It's full of amusement parks for which adults and kids can have an equal amount of enjoyment. Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort, and Sea World all call Orlando home. Although Orlando is widely known for its abundance of tourist attractions, downtown Orlando is undergoing major redevelopment with a number of residential and commercial towers. There are also plans to build a brand new performing arts center, Orlando Arena, and improve the Florida Citrus Bowl.

Most of southern Florida contains nearly a million and a half acres of massive grass and water covered surface that is about 60 by 120 miles in size. This area is called The Florida Everglades National Park. The waterways are inhabited by otters, manatees, alligators and crocodiles. The park is the only place in the world where alligators and crocodiles coexist naturally.

Giving visitors nearly endless amounts of fun, Florida is a great place to visit and an amazing place to call home. With a ride to outer space at The Kennedy Space Center, or taking a safari through the Florida Everglades, Florida can easily be called one of the best spots on planet Earth.

Save Money With A Dummy Security Camera With A Motion Sensor

If you're looking for an inexpensive alternative to your security needs, a dummy security camera with motion sensor may be the perfect solution. not only is this a low cost option, but you also don't have to monitor the camera system.

one of the biggest concerns with these security cameras, or lack thereof, is their believability. Some of these fake cameras look cheap and an obvious imitation. one way to get around this is to install a dummy security camera with motion sensor.

A motion sensor will detect any type of movement and the camera will follow the movements of whom it is tracking. While these security camera systems are more expensive than a dummy model, they are also much improved and provide a more realistic look.

You can find a dummy security camera with motion sensor at many of your larger home improvement stores such as Lowe's or Home Depot. they even have personnel available to come out and install the camera for you.

The best type of security camera with a motion sensor is one that runs on a battery and is portable. not only are they much easier to install because there is no wiring, but you also have the ability to move them around to other locations. wired security cameras are much more expensive due to the fact you'll most likely need an experienced electrician to do the wiring.

You can find a variety of dummy security camera with a motion sensor online. Once you know what your needs are, choosing the best system will be a snap.
